What makes Franny’s Jumbo raisins so big and juicy? We start by growing our grapes to meet table grape standards, which makes the grapes much larger than a normal “raisin grape”. The grapes for Franny’s jumbo raisins are picked from the vine at a higher sugar level to insure optimum flavor and sweetness. We never pick our grapes before they are ready. After the grapes are picked they are delivered to the raisin processing plant and given a “water bath” to wash the grapes clean. They are then placed in trays and sent through a dehydrator for 24 hours. By using the dehydration method we can control the level of moisture to give the raisins a more uniform moistness and tender juicier skins. After the raisins are dehydrated, they are given another rinse and then dried with warm air. They are then carefully graded and sorted to make sure that only the very best raisins are suitable for Franny. Our raisins are pure and nutritious, moist and sweet. You can eat them like candy!
